We clean lined and unlined drapes as well as thermal backed drapes. We have a specialised ‘press’ for the finishing of the drapes which gives an excellent presentation all ready to be hung up once again.

Our process of cleaning kills any mould that may be forming and often after cleaning our clients are surprised by the results. Old drapes may just need a clean instead of going through the expense of replacing entire rooms.

All our drapes are dry cleaned using a worldwide recognized system, recommended by many furnishing manufacturers.

Unfortunately due to the nature of some furnishing fabrics the following problems can occur, we would prefer our clients to be aware of the risks involved before continuing with the cleaning process:

Shrinkage – caused by the fact that many furnishing fabrics are not preshrunk. This has now been overcome by many manufacturers, but it is not possible to tell prior to cleaning whether or not a particular fabric has been preshrunk.

We dry cleaning all furnishing fabrics at 55°C. This is below the recommended maximum.

Bonded Backing – Thermal Drapes – These thermal linings in some circumstances break down after only a very short exposure to sunlight and other conditions. This can cause the lining to either peel or go tacky in the dry clean. An alternative is washing but this has an added risk of excessive shrinkage.

It is not possible to tell prior to cleaning whether or not these conditions will become apparent.
